GdS: Predicted XIs for Milan vs. Inter – Diawara leading left-back battle
As some important players are back at Ruben Amorim’s disposal for Milan’s derby against Inter tonight, some changes are expected to the starting eleven.
The mid-week game against Bologna didn’t exactly go to plan for Milan, losing 2-4 despite coming back from 0-1 down in the first half. Several important players were missing for that game, though, which didn’t help the Rossoneri.
The good news is that these players are back at Amorim’s disposal for tonight’s derby. Of course, we are talking about Mario Gila, Adrien Rabiot and Diego Moreira, who have certainly come up big for the Rossoneri so far this season.
Key players return
According to Gazzetta dello Sport this morning (see photo below), all of these will play from the first minute. Gila is back on the right-hand side of the defence, while Rabiot will partner with Yunus Musah and Luka Modric in midfield.
Moriera is expected to start on the right, with Christian Pulisic playing on the left, and it will be interesting to see if the Belgian can perform at a higher level in that position. After all, he’s been at his best on the left flank so far.
The other interesting thing to note about the predicted eleven is Sankhoun Diawara, who’s currently ahead of both Pervis Estupinan and Davide Bartesaghi for the left-back role. We could be looking at a back four of four centre-backs, as such.
