GdS: Predicted XIs for Milan vs. Ferencvaros – Amorim opts for young line-up

AC Milan welcome Ferencvaros to San Siro this evening, hoping to begin righting the course after a difficult start to their Europa League campaign.

Defeats to Benfica and Bournemouth – both without scoring – in the opening three rounds have left Milan languishing down in 24th in the table. That means they need to be almost perfect to maintain any hopes of a top four spot, with five games left to salvage things.

They face a Ferencvaros side who are 20 unbeaten across all competitions and have won all three of their games in Europe so far, so they will arrive in Milan full of confidence and ready to try secure a historic result.

This morning’s edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport has the team news ahead of tonight’s game, starting with the absentees. Mike Maignan is suspended, while Strahinja Pavlovic, Fikayo Tomori, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Alexis Saelemaekers, Matteo Gabbia, Pietro Terracciano and Samuel Chukwueze are all out.

The back four should consist of Filippo Terracciano, Koni De Winter, Sankhoun Diawara and Davide Bartesaghi ahead of the young goalkeeper Lorenzo Torriano, who will step up in Maignan’s absence.

Omari Hutchinson and Alphadjo Cisse should operate in wide roles either side of a double pivot composed of Yunus Musah and Ardon Jashari. Adrien Rabiot is expected to play a more advanced role behind striker Goncalo Ramos.
