GdS: Predicted XIs for Genoa vs. Milan – Pavlovic in doubt but starters return
By: Isak Möller
Ruben Amorim will bring back the big guns for tomorrow’s starting eleven against Genoa, although Strahinja Pavlovic remains at risk of missing the game.
Thursday’s performance against Ferencvaros was a very poor one and it’s safe to say that some of the deputies didn’t take their chances. As such, with Genoa up next on Sunday afternoon, Amorim is set to revert to the usual eleven.
The only problem is that Pavlovic is still struggling with shoulder discomfort, which could keep him on the sidelines. Amorim has previously highlighted how important the Serbian’s mentality is, but a return won’t be rushed.
Back to the usual
According to Gazzetta dello Sport this morning, the likes of Mike Maignan (suspended last time out), Mario Gila, Pervis Estupinan, Luka Modric, Diego Moreira and Christian Pulisic will come into the eleven.
Six changes, in other words, which could turn into seven if Pavlovic does make it back in time. Today’s training session will be decisive in that sense as Amorim and the medical staff will evaluate the centre-back. In case of a return, Sankhoun Diawara would likely move to the left.
As for Genoa, there are some familiar faces as Stephan El Shaarawy and Lorenzo Colombo are both expected to start the game. Another former Milan man will also be on the bench, namely Junior Messias.
Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Gila, De Winter, Diawara, Estupinan; Musah, Modric; Moreira, Rabiot, Pulisic; Ramos.
Predicted bench: Torriani, Bouyer, F. Terracciano, Vladimirov, Bartesaghi, Jashari, Comotto, Hutchinson, Cisse, Camarda.
