GdS: Predicted XIs for AC Milan vs. Venezia – Amorim opts for continuity
AC Milan will play in front of their home fans for the first time this season as they welcome Venezia to San Siro tonight.
After starting the Ruben Amorim era on a positive note with a win away from home against Torino last Sunday, the hope of most of the sell-out 74,000 crowd will be that it can become six points from six. However, it will not be a stroll in the park against the 2025-26 Serie B champions.
AC Milan vs. Venezia: Predicted XIs
In terms of team news for Milan, the only absentees are the ones not considered due to transfer reasons. Rafael Leao is nearing a sale to either Aston Villa or Galatasaray, while Fikayo Tomori, Youssouf Fofana and Santiago Gimenez continue training separately.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) suggest it will be an unchanged XI from the win in Turin. That means Goncalo Ramos will lead the line, flanked by Ruben Loftus-Cheek and last week’s opening scorer Alphadjo Cisse in the attacking midfielder positions.
A midfield double pivot of Ardon Jashari and Yunus Musah is tipped to get the nod again, with Samuel Chukwueze at right wing-back and Pervis Estupinan on the other side. Mario Gila, Koni De Winter and Strahinja Pavlovic are anticipated to be the back three in front of Mike Maignan.
Predicted Milan XI (3-4-2-1): Maignan; Gila, De Winter, Pavlovic; Chukwueze, Jashari, Musah, Estupinan; Loftus-Cheek, Cisse; Ramos.
Predicted bench: P. Terracciano, Torriani, F. Terracciano, Gabbia, Diawara, Bartesaghi, Moreira, Comotto, Modric, Rabiot, Saelemaekers, Pulisic, Camarda.
Injuries & suspensions: None.
Predicted Venezia XI (3-5-2): Stankovic; Schingtienne, Bella-Kotchap, Franjic; Hainaut, Perez, Busio, Basic, Correia; Adams, Yeboah.
Predicted bench: Montipò, Grandi, Haps, Sagrado, Halhal, Gomes, Fanne, Farji, Sohm, Helgason, Dagasso, Panada, Rrahmani, Lauberbach, Okoro.
Injuries & suspensions: Sverko, Adorante, Moreno (a doubt).
