It has been a turbulent build-up to AC Milan’s latest away trip, this time overseas to face AFC Bournemouth in the Europa League.

Since the extended international break, Milan followed up a draw against Sassuolo with a 4-0 hammering of RB Salzburg and then a rollercoaster 3-2 victory over Atalanta at San Siro in the league, so things are trending positively.

Predicted AC Milan XI to face Bournemouth

The absences of Alexis Saelemaekers and Matteo Gabbia were known, with both of them not expected to be back until 2027. However, two further blows came on the eve of the game.

Firstly, Samuel Chukwueze missed the final session before the team fly over to England because he complained of hip discomfort after the Atalanta game. A specialist check-up is required for him, with a lengthy absence feared.

Meanwhile, Goncalo Ramos came out of the session early after feeling calf discomfort. The medical staff plan to check him over but it seems at the moment like a muscle overload, which will see him miss at least this game and possibly more.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Amorim is expected to continue with his trend of rotating. Fikayo Tomori, Koni De Winter, Strahinja Pavlovic and Pervis Estupinan are the four defenders expected to play ahead of Mike Maignan.

A midfield three of Ardon Jashari, Yunus Musah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek should act behind Omari Hutchinson and Diego Moreira. Alphadjo Cisse – who will celebrate his 20th birthday on the day of the game – should lead the line and not Francesco Camarda.

Predicted Milan XI (4-2-3-1): Maignan; Tomori, De Winter, Pavlovic, Estupinan; Jashari, Musah, Loftus-Cheek; Hutchinson, Moreira; Cisse.
