GdS: Milanello, Mapei, maybe more – Cardinale shifts focus to Milan after Skydance closure
AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale will be back in Italy this weekend, but his stay in Europe will not just be condensed to the next few days.
It is an important time for Milan. In October, they will play every three days and it could be a defining month for their season. So, everyone must feel the support of the club and each other. Above all, everyone must be ready to face the challenge.
Aside from that, though, it marks the final 90 days until the mercato’s reopening and Cardinale is keen to finalise things before then.
Cardinale returns
This morning, Gazzetta dello Sport (seen below) confirmed that Cardinale will be back in Italy for this weekend’s trip to Sassuolo. It’s already been a big week for him – after the launch of the Skydance project – and the hope will be that the positives keep coming.
On Saturday, he’ll be at Milanello to greet the team and express his support ahead of their return fixture in Serie A. Then, he’ll be in Reggio for the game itself, refusing to miss any Serie A action.
That’s not all, though. In fact, Cardinale’s latest trip to Italy (and Europe generally) will see him hold further discussions to ‘complete the club’s structure’ with a new sporting director. It’s set to be a busy few weeks for the American.
