Ruben Amorim’s teams have not been completely without controversy yet. He’s had to deal with players returning from injuries and a squad that he’s not completely worked out. So, it’s been experimental.

Now, though, the time for these experiments is over and that involves the attacking midfielders more than anyone else.

Amorim’s 10s

As Gazzetta dello Sport write, the attacking midfielders under Amorim are ‘restless’. So far, six players have played there and there have been as many as five different pairings, but that could change this weekend.

It’s chaotic, really, with Amorim unable to find a combination that works for him and the team. However, he’s also been open about the fact that he’s wanted to test every combination. Unfortunately, it comes in a very delicate area which can – and does – change results.

Christian Pulisic seems to be a given starter and that should be seen this weekend, but the right remains a place of questions. Diego Moreira, Adrien Rabiot and Omari Hutchinson will offer their candidacies as left-footers. However, Alphadjo Cisse may also create a push.

The starters have never finished a match, too, so it’s clear that being on the bench is not a complete ostracisation. But Amorim needs to make his decisions with everything still up in the air. From the starters to the finishers.
