He was convinced by his young age and an attacking, dominant footballing idea: possession, aggression, intensity and the search for one more goal. The project grew out of disappointment over Milan's 2025-26 season and top-level transfer business has backed it. After just five matches and only one defeat, therefore, confidence in the manager remains intact, according to the newspaper: the Portuguese coach is secure in the dugout and the owner continues to back him.

That backing comes with a clear demand, Gazzetta's analysis continues: turn things around immediately. It starts with the match against Lecce and, above all, the next run of nine games, five of them away, across Serie A and the Europa League. AC Milan need consistency, and they need answers on the pitch.

Amorim is feeling the pressure first-hand.
