AC Milan pulled off a Halloween spectacular at San Siro last night as they beat city rivals Inter 3-1 in the derby.
All four goals came in the first half, with Christian Pulisic’s header and Adrien Rabiot’s flick from a corner putting Milan in dreamland less than 10 minutes in. Alessandro Bastoni halved the deficit, before Diego Moreira’s outstanding free-kick restored the two-goal lead.

It was a result that the Rossoneri badly needed after the midweek setback against Bologna, and it shows the level that they are capable of playing at. Below is how the Italian newspapers have reacted.
La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan in ecstasy. The derby remains a nightmare for Inter. Moreira is king: two assists and a goal. Chivu, in a crisis situation, falls short. Amorim dominates, Cardinale emotional: ‘Unbelievable’.”
Corriere dello Sport: “Stramorim. Ruben dismantles Chivu’s side. Moreira puts on a masterclass: within the first 10 minutes, the Belgian provides the assists for goals by Pulisic and Rabiot. Bastoni offers a glimmer of hope, but Maignan stands like a wall. Then, a moment of magic from Diego via a free-kick. Milan move to within 4 points of the top.”
Tuttosport: “Devilish. A rampant Milan leave Inter reeling. It’s Moreira’s night: he provides assists for Pulisic and Rabiot, then conjures a moment of magic from a free- kick, following a goal from Bastoni.”
“A masterclass from Amorim, while this time Chivu fails to engineer a comeback; it’s their first league defeat, and Lazio could pull away today. The derby nightmare continues: that’s now eight games without a win for the Nerazzurri.”
QS: “Milan roar: a derby masterclass. Pulisic, Rabiot, and Moreira score in a 3-1 win over Inter: redemption for Amorim.”
