AC Milan’s Europa League misery continued as they lost their third game in four against Ferencvaros at San Siro.

Going into the game Milan really needed a win having lost two of their first three, but what unfolded on Thursday night was probably their worst performance of the Ruben Amorim era so far. The away side scored twice in the second half to secure a victory that they deserved in truth.

Ruben Amorim did not hold back after the game, questioning his side’s mentality, while the Italian media have stuck the boot in this morning too as was to be expected, with the Rossoneri languishing outside the top 24 spots.

La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Neuro Milan. Amorim is harsh: ‘Indefensible’. Forget about the derby, the Rossoneri have slumped to 28th place. The coach says: ‘It’s my fault too, no excuses’.”

Corriere dello Sport: “A bad one for Milan. A third defeat in four Europa League matchdays. Amorim: ‘I’ve never seen a first half like that’. Errors and lapses in concentration. A blunder by Torriani for the 0-1 goal.”

Tuttosport: “What an ordeal for the EuroMilan. The derby boost has vanished: an unwatchable performance and a third defeat. Amorim: ‘Indefensible; those who wear this shirt have responsibilities. We aren’t ready to play every three days’.”

QS: “The other side of Milan. Ferencvaros pull off a win: it ends 0-2 at San Siro.”
