Gerry Cardinale has made the headlines this morning thanks to a hefty capital increase, looking to boost AC Milan’s coffers for the upcoming mercato.
Milan spent a good chunk of cash in the summer, coming in at around €160m in transfer fees, but Cardinale is clearly not done yet. In recent weeks, there have been reports suggesting that the Rossoneri could make one or two signings in January, and they won’t be cheap ones either.
Goncalo Inacio is probably the hottest name at the moment, with Gazzetta dello Sport reportedly as recently as yesterday that he could arrive. Another one is the striker Endrick, though we would be looking at a loan formula for him.
In any case, to deal with the additional signings, Cardinale has recently made a capital increase of €50m. The shareholders’ equity was very strong even after the 2025-26 loss, as we explained in a Substack long read, so the increase is clearly a sign of more investments to come.
