Fiorentina director Fabio Paratici says Dodo is ‘training well’ and is considered ‘a team member,’ but the Brazilian is destined to leave, either in January or at the end of the season.

Fiorentina director Paratici suggests the club is open to offers for Brazilian right-back Dodo, who has less than a year left in his contract at the Stadio Franchi.

Dodo rejected Fiorentina’s contract extension offers last summer and has made only four appearances across all competitions this season, playing just 166 minutes so far.

When asked by DAZN about the right-back’s transfer situation, Paratici said (via TMW): “It’s very clear, and it’s always been. At the end of the season, he’ll have a legitimate ambition to find another club.

“We were available if a valuable offer had arrived [in the summer], but we didn’t receive one, and it has created some issues with his approach to the new season. Now he trains really well; he’s a team member and will be considered as such until he’s here.”

Spanish newspaper Sport reported earlier in October that Barcelona keep monitoring the Brazilian right-back, but Juventus and Milan have also been linked.

Dodo will be free to join any other club when his contract ends in June 2027, and Fiorentina are ready to listen to offers in January after receiving no proposals over the summer.

Dodo is available for Fiorentina’s away Serie A game against Inter today.

The meeting at the Stadio Meazza is Sunday’s Serie A lunchtime match. Once again, the Tuscans’ coach Paolo Vanoli has picked Alex Jimenez at right-back.

Fiorentina have earned only one point in their last three Serie A games, losing the two most recent.

“The club’s support helps the team and the entire staff,” Paratici said.

“We all support him [Vanoli] and try to help him. He’s earned four points in four games, including matches against big clubs. You also need to look at the fixture list and some incidents.

“We don’t think about January; we have talent in attack and defence,” concluded Paratici.

“We have started a clear journey, knowing we’d face difficulties. There’s no shortcut; we must face it by optimising our work.”
