Fabregas makes admission about Messi’s son and Como shirt
Leo Messi’s son Ciro was seen wearing a Como shirt, prompting the Azzurri coach Cesc Fabregas to admit: ‘I was the one who gave it to him.’
A picture of Messi’s son Ciro wearing a Como shirt has gone viral on social media. His mother and Messi’s wife, Antonela Roccuzzo, initially posted it on Instagram.
Why Messi’s son Ciro wore a Como shirt
Como coach Fabregas, a former Barcelona teammate of Messi, saw the photo and shared the behind-the-scenes story during an interview on Tuesday.
“I was the one who gave him that shirt. Our wives, children, and I have been close friends all our lives. I’ve sent them lots of Como shirts,” Fabregas told Sky.
Some Italian media reported that Messi’s son chose the Como shirt because he admires Nico Paz, one of the players tipped to inherit Argentina’s No.10 shirt after Messi’s retirement.
Fabregas, however, clarified: “It’s mine. It says Fabregas on the back, and the number is obviously 4.”
Como’s Fabregas host Manchester United in the Champions League Round 3 later today.
Fabregas and Messi spent several years together at Barcelona, playing 123 games together at Camp Nou.
Fabregas won several trophies at Barcelona, including a La Liga title in 2012-13 and a UEFA Super Cup in 2011.
