It has long been suggested that AC Milan could sign Nicolò Tresoldi when the time was right, and that seems to be the case even more.

In recent years, with Milan needing a young striker to invest in, Tresoldi has looked like an almost perfect fit. He scored 19 goals in 40 games last season in the Belgian Pro League, adding three Champions League goals to that tally, too. Even this season, he’s scoring for fun, notching up four goals in eight appearances.

However, the Rossoneri’s need for him dwindled with the big-money addition of Goncalo Ramos. Indeed, the striker budget went empty and the hopes were that goals would come. It’s been a little slow for the Portuguese, though, so maybe there could be a route to San Siro after all.

Tresoldi’s father admits Milan dream

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Tresoldi’s father, Emanuele, discussed his son’s love for the Diavolo and his future ahead of Club Brugge’s game against Inter this evening.

“He fell in love with Kakà, Inzaghi, Pato, and there was no way to change his mind. Will he ever play in Serie A? Maybe. His dream is to wear the Milan shirt,” MilanNews relays.

If Inter were to call, what would he do?

“I’m not at all sure he would accept. The spirit of the fan might prevail.”

His first appearance at San Siro vs. Inter…

“What do I feel? Emotion and pride. Nicolò is slowly reaping the rewards of his hard work: he struggled to establish himself because he didn’t have the talent of a champion or the physique of a cuirassier. And yet, here he is. A father couldn’t ask for anything better.”
