‘Doesn’t look good at all’: Shearer reacts after Man Utd star pulls up with serious injury vs Roma
Carlos Baleba has been withdrawn just mere minutes into the second half after pulling up with an injury.
The Manchester United star completed a direct attacking run into the area before clutching his hamstring and dropping to the floor, during which he could be seen writhing in pain while waiting to receive treatment.
Baleba hobbled off the pitch and headed straight down the Stretford End tunnel, gifting his match shirt to a young fan on the way.
Youri Tielemans has come on to replace the Cameroonian for the remaining 40 minutes plus injury time, with United still trailing by two goals.
Fans will be concerned over Baleba’s condition until there is further clarification on his setback.
On Prime Sport’s commentary, Alan Shearer noted: “That doesn’t look good at all, unfortunately.”
The youngster, who signed from Brighton and Hove Albion in a £70 million deal in August, had only recently reached full fitness after enduring a delayed start to the campaign.
An ankle ligament injury that he sustained in pre-season with the Seagulls meant Baleba had to wait until October 10 to make his competitive debut.
Tonight marked his seventh appearance and fifth start across all competitions, and he had been one bright spark amidst a truly dismal run for United.
