Daily Briefing: Milan battling Arsenal and Aston Villa for €35m-rated Bayern defender
The priority target for the January mercato is known, but AC Milan will not risk being left red-faced again by Sporting.
It is no secret that Milan are still dreaming of Goncalo Inacio; reports this morning even confirmed that he’s still the preference in defence for Ruben Amorim and even Gerry Cardinale. Yet, he’s not the only option, which is a good thing.
Although Sporting are believed to be preparing for the Rossoneri’s approach, there is still a risk that the clubs won’t get a deal done. So, other targets need to be considered and another name is in the mix.
The race for Kim
Kim Min-Jae has been linked with a return to Italy for a while now, and the links aren’t going away. The Daily Briefing reports that the Diavolo are still interested in the Korean defender, but they will face heavy competition from Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Valued at €35m, it would be a significant investment in someone who will be 30 by the January mercato. Considering Cardinale’s preference to buy players for the future, it makes sense why he may not be the primary option.
Nevertheless, he remains an option, but Milan must not be drawn into a bidding war, which the Premier League clubs could launch.
