CorSport: Milan begin ‘exploratory’ talks with USG over promising defender Sylla

Ahead of the January mercato, AC Milan are beginning to open talks with a club in Belgium for their highly rated young defender.

It’s no surprise that Milan are looking to sign a defender in January, but most would assume that the arrival would be someone with experience. Goncalo Inacio seems to be in the mix, but he’s not the only player being looked at.

It’s fair to say that most would prioritise a signing like Inacio over another player for the future, even if Sankhoun Diawara has started life at San Siro promisingly.

Contacts begin for Sylla

According to Corriere dello Sport, initial contacts have begun with Union Saint-Gilloise about a deal for Massire Sylla, as MilanNews relays. The defender was linked to the club a few days ago – by Matteo Moretto – and it seems things could be starting to advance.

While the calls have been exploratory so far, the parties are already trying to assess the feasibility of a January deal. A ‘young, physically fit’ defender, he’s a future option with plenty of room to grow.

Additionally, he has characteristics that could make him an important asset for the Rossoneri project. One for the future, it seems, so you’d imagine that there will still be room for someone in the present.
