CorSera: Milan display ‘unacceptable arrogance’ and ‘unmotivated snobbery’ in latest defeat

The media are quite rightly being critical of AC Milan after their dismal display against Ferencvaros in the Europa League last night.
Milan fell to their third defeat in four to begin their European campaign, following up the previous defeats to Benfica (0-2) and Bournemouth (3-0) with another loss (2-0) without scoring against Ferencvaros.
‘Arrogance rightly punished’
This morning’s edition of Corriere della Sera (via MilanNews) spared no punches. Their report begins as follows: “What a turnaround, what a derby effect: AC Milan’s cup defeat is another Euro flop, the third in four matches.
“A highly organised Ferencvaros (12 points out of 12) give the Rossoneri a homecoming lesson, as they once again underestimate Thursday’s match and are rightly punished: unacceptable arrogance, unmotivated snobbery, especially for a club that, having made history in European competitions, should have a duty to honour them.”
Yesterday’s performance against the Hungarians was unrecognisable from the 3-1 win over Inter on Saturday in the league derby. As Amorim admitted it was a flawed approach, with the game played at too slow a pace and with far too many errors from pretty much every player out there.
At the halfway point of the league phase, the Diavolo are near the bottom of the standings (28th), and therefore cannot make any further mistakes from now on, otherwise qualification for the next round could become very difficult.
