CM: Pavlovic a doubt for Genoa after training separately on Friday – the latest
By: Ben Dixon
After missing Thursday’s game against Ferencvaros, AC Milan may be without Strahinja Pavlovic against Genoa.
Ahead of the midweek game, it was reported that Pavlovic was not in training and could miss the game against Ferencvaros after being used heavily in the October period. So, it was not a shock that he was not present yesterday.
However, it was hoped that he’d return for the weekend and it seems that this may not be the case.
Pavlovic doubtful
According to Calciomercato.com, the Serbian has not returned to group training today, either. Instead, he trained by himself and hasn’t fully recovered, which means he’s at risk for this weekend’s game.
It’s important to note that this isn’t due to injury, but rather energy management, considering he’s gritted his teeth a bit to get through recent games.
A decision will be made by Ruben Amorim on Saturday about whether to call him up for the game, but with it being the final game before the international break, there may be a bit of a reluctance to rush him back.
Considering he’s already suffered from fatigue issues this season, it’s something that Milan cannot afford to risk worsening, especially with the lack of defenders at the club.
