CM: Milan on high alert as Fernandes could leave Man Utd in January – the situation
In the summer, it was suggested that AC Milan wanted to sign Bruno Fernandes and now it seems like it could be a possibility in January.
Things are certainly not going swimmingly in Manchester. Results are poor, Michael Carrick’s job is at risk and the players are voicing their frustrations. It feels like a crossroads moment and the fallout could be huge.
This is where Milan come into play, with Fernandes’ situation of interest…
Bruno to Milan?
According to Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri are very much aware of Bruno’s situation in Manchester. He’s quarrelled with Carrick in recent weeks and he has become a possibility.
In fact, he could even leave the Red Devils in January, with a €65 million foreign club release clause in his deal. In terms of his salary demands, the €10.2m net per season is ‘unmatchable’ for the Diavolo. Yet, it’s not impossible that things could be worked out, provided a strong effort was made by both parties.
His current deal expires in the summer, and negotiations over a renewal have stalled. There is an option in his contract to serve another season, so if the rift can be mended, there’s security. However, if things remain as they are, he could be departing much sooner.
Milan are watching the situation and any developments in the next few weeks could be decisive.
