BordoCam on DAZN reveals the story behind Juventus’ crushing defeat to Genoa.

A game within a game. BordoCam, a DAZN feature, again catches what the match cameras and viewers at home miss. Juventus' heavy away defeat against Genoa at the Ferraris came with exchanges and angry outbursts that help explain the club's poor run of form.

After the calm of the pre-match joint press conference came fury: first from Spalletti, then from CEO Carnevali and the fans chanting Antonio Conte's name.

The anger with Douglas Luiz and De Rossi’s moves

Early in the match, De Rossi shifts Vitinha and Baldanzi to the centre-left to break Gatti and Bremer's defensive line. Gatti and Bremer are asked to step out and pick up the Italian playmaker, but to no avail.

Spalletti repeatedly gets angry with Douglas Luiz and tells him to push up, but doing so would leave Baldanzi unmarked. That is how the 1-0 goal comes about, with Spalletti shouting to his team: "You have to come out!"

Cambiaso and Kalulu and Spalletti’s disappointment

Cambiaso and Kalulu bore the brunt of Spalletti's anger. The Italian's mistake led to the 1-0 goal. Then came the Frenchman's decisions on the counter-attack and the chance the former Genoa player wasted in attack: "But was that a cross or a shot?!?"

Searching for a tactical solution to Baldanzi, a thorn in his side, Spalletti said, "We need to replace Sarr with Douglas, because Douglas never gets there". Kalulu then lost a rebound in his own penalty area, and Baldanzi scored. Spalletti turned towards his bench again, angry and disappointed.

“But pass the ball!”

Spalletti's patience runs out in the second half as his substitutes, first Boga, then Cabal and above all Zhegrova, misplace simple passes, make the wrong choices and fail to move out wide as he instructs.

When Zhegrova loses the ball yet again after a failed attempt to dribble, Genoa break on the counter-attack. Spalletti snaps: "Come on, pass the ball!"

Carnevali's anger

Giorgio Chiellini looks almost incredulous in the stands, his hands to his face. Chief executive Giovanni Carnevali then sighs at yet another chance gone begging.

After yet another mistake towards the end, the Juventus chief executive himself appears to say: "How the f*** can you play like that?"

Fans call for Conte

Koopmeiners' free-kick struck the crossbar, and at the final whistle the Juventus players stood motionless and incredulous in the middle of the pitch. Facing them, the travelling fans displayed a banner calling for Antonio Conte's return: “Just 7 letters to start winning again: ANTONIO”
