Cardinale happy with Milan’s performance and Amorim: “The team continues to improve”
AC Milan owner Gerry Cardinale was pleased with how the team bounced back from their midweek defeat to beat Udinese last night.
Having had an exchange with some reporters outside the Bluenergy Stadium, Cardinale also spoke to Sky following the 2-0 victory in Udinese, which came thanks to goals from Christian Pulisic and Omari Hutchinson. His words are via MilanNews.
“The team continues to improve and showed great resilience after the disappointing performance in Europe. We maintained a high intensity throughout the match; our ball possession and aggressiveness in recovering the ball after losing it were very positive aspects.
“Ruben [Amorim] managed the rotations and substitutions well. All of this puts us in good shape ahead of Wednesday’s home match.”
A busy week
Cardinale landed in Italy specifically for the match, which he watched at the stadium with three of his staff. Cardinale was in the stands with the club’s CEO Massimo Calvelli, Scouting/Recruitment Analyst Tiago Estevao and Director of Football Intelligence Bobby Gardiner.
Another executive may soon be added to these ranks with the appointment of a Head of Football. A full agreement has not yet been reached with Markus Krosche, although the former Eintracht Frankfurt manager is highly regarded by Cardinale.
There will be other issues for the RedBird Capital founder to tackle too, such as projects like the new stadium and the NBA Europe franchise, before Saturday’s derby against Inter which he is expected to attend also.
