Capello curious about Sassuolo-Milan amid ‘half-assed’ Amorim concerns
Fabio Capello has shared his thoughts on the restart of the season, following a long international break, expressing curiosity about AC Milan’s new system.
At the start of this season, Ruben Amorim has worked hard to find the right balance for Milan, testing many players in the starting eleven and different movements on the pitch. Against Lecce, he seemed to get most things right, potentially finding a long-term solution.
Today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Milan are expected to field the 4-2-3-1 formation tomorrow, leaning into what they did against Lecce. It will be an attacking-minded eleven, but with four at the back, the hope is that balance will still be preserved.
Speaking to the newspaper (via MilanPress), Capello briefly shared his thoughts on the Rossoneri, stating that he’s looking forward to seeing them against Sassuolo tomorrow. Indeed, the game will be a proper litmus test to understand why they are in the process.
“I would like to know if Amorim has really found the right balance for Milan or if he has just ‘half-assed’ one. In the most recent game, before the break, he finally fielded a team with a bit more experience and they did well. We shall see against Sassuolo,” he stated.
