Boost for Cagliari as Ex-Tottenham Man Is Fit to Start Against Lazio

Cagliari will be able to rely on the vital services of Harry Winks when they take on Lazio in the 10th round of Serie A.

Lazio & Cagliari Will Meet at the Stadio Olimpico

The Biancocelesti will be looking to cement their place at the Serie A summit when they host the Isolani at the Stadio Olimpico on Sunday (kickoff at 15:00 CET). Gennaro Gattuso’s men have a realistic chance to end the weekend at the top of the table, especially if Inter Milan fail to beat their crosstown rivals AC Milan in Saturday’s Derby della Madonnina.

For their part, Cagliari will return to the Olimpico just five days after their 2-4 defeat to Roma. But while the Rossoblu were without Winks in midweek due to back pain, several sources, including La Gazzetta dello Sport, expect the Englishman to start in the middle of the park against the Aquile.

Harry Winks Returns From Injury

The former Tottenham and Leicester City man, who signed for the Sardinians last summer, has seemingly recovered from his injury, and the pink newspaper expects him to slot in between the young Alessandro Romano and his skipper Alessandro Deiola in Fabio Pisacane’s 4-3-2-1 system.

Former Lazio loanee Daniel Maldini, who has been in fine form this season, should start as an attacking midfielder alongside Michel Adop, with Paul Mendy leading the line as usual. Ze Pedro, Yerry Mina, Juan Rodriguez, and Adam Obert will form the backline, with Elia Caprile in goal.

Cagliari Probable XI (4-3-2-1): Caprile; Ze Pedro, Mina, Rodriguez, Obert; Romano, Winks, Deiola; Adopo, Maldini; Mendy
