Tuttosport reports that USMNT star Folarin Balogun is Juventus’ top target in attack for the January transfer window as the Bianconeri seek more reinforcement after welcoming Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade last summer.

American striker Balogun is Juventus’ top attacking target for the upcoming January transfer window, according to Tuttosport.

Juventus pounce on Balogun for January window

Balogun is destined to leave Monaco either in January or at the end of the season, having only played 74 minutes this season. The Ligue 1 side reached an agreement with Everton on the summer deadline day, but the striker decided against signing with the Toffees after undergoing medical tests.

“The Premier League has a mechanism where you can request one extra hour to finish the paperwork,” Monaco director Thiago Scuro said in September via The Guardian.

“This was done five minutes to the close of the transfer window there. I signed the contract, Everton signed the contract. At the last moment, the player decided not to sign. And basically, the allegation of Balogun is that: ‘I’m not feeling well by the way the club treated me. I’m not feeling well by the way the medical department of Everton brought doubts about my future or my health. I have nothing [wrong with me], so I’m not comfortable to sign a long contract here.’”

Monaco and Everton reached an agreement over a permanent £40m deal, circa €48m, but it remains unclear whether Juventus can match that fee in the January window.

Tuttosport, however, notes that the Bianconeri are on excellent terms with the striker’s agent, Jorge Mendes, who is willing to offer the 25-year-old striker to the Bianconeri.

Juventus keep monitoring Antonio Raimondo of Frosinone and Atletico Madrid’s Alexander Sorloth, but according to Tuttosport, Balogun remains their top target for January. Balogun’s contract with Monaco expires in 2028.
