Milan Primavera have officially hit crisis mode, having lost their last three games despite what was a rather positive start to the season.

After finishing in 11th place last season, many expected Milan to part ways with the Primavera head coach Giovanni Renna, but instead their faith was reiterated. It seemed to have been the right decision a few weeks back, with two wins and one draw, but now things have gone south.

The disappointing defeat against Hellas Verona at the start of September was followed up by another defeat against Roma. Renna expressed his disappointment at the time, above all due to ‘stupid’ mistakes, but not enough lessons were learned to avoid a third defeat.

Third defeat on the trot

Today’s game against Atalanta kicked off at 13:00 and while most of us were hoping for an international break effect, it didn’t take long for Milan to remember where they left off. Indeed, just nine minutes into the game, the Bergamo side took the lead.

At the start of the second half, Atalanta doubled their advantage and Milan’s uphill battle got even tougher. In the 72nd minute, they came close but were denied by the post and the goalkeeper, ultimately failing to find the back of the net.

In other words, a third consecutive defeat was a fact as the referee blew his whistle, with the Rossoneri certainly hitting the crisis mode button. They are now 10th but with a game in hand, so they could sink further during the weekend.
