AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim has insisted he is focused only on Bologna despite the derby looming at the weekend.

For Milan, this is an opportunity to jump back into the top four after Como and Roma’s comeback wins on Tuesday night, and to make it three wins on the spin in Serie A. They have been nearly faultless at home thus far, winning all three home fixtures versus Venezia, Lecce and Atalanta.

The only blot on the record came in the Europa League against Benfica, the competition which also brought the only other loss in 2026-27 thus far on Thursday night in Bournemouth. So, the Rossoneri will hope to keep up their solid domestic form ahead of Saturday’s derby.

Amorim chose to make three changes from the Udinese win, notably resting Luka Modric and Christian Pulisic. The coach spoke briefly to DAZN before the game, with his words via MilanPress.

“This match is important to me, then we’ll think about the derby against Inter, we’re focused on Bologna. Then we’ll figure out who will be available for the derby, but for now we’re focused on this match,” he began.

“I want everything from Cisse: quality, talent, playing in the half-spaces, creating chances, but also chasing down opponents.”
