AC Milan are looking to accelerate their interest in West Ham striker Niclas Fullkrug according to Italian publication Calciomercato.
The Rossoneri are pushing to bring in a new forward in the New Year as they aim to boost their Scudetto push.
Max Allegri’s side sit just a point behind rivals Inter at the top of Serie A following their 2-2 draw with Sassuolo at the weekend.
However, Allegri is eager to ease the burden on his current forwards as the former Juventus boss looks to mastermind domestic success in his first season back at the San Siro helm.
Pulisic and Leao lacking support in attack
Christian Pulisic and Rafael Leao are the club’s top scorers with seven and five goals, respectively, to their name.
However, reserve forwards Christopher Nkunku and Santiago Gimenez are yet to net in Italy’s top tier this term, and Allegri wants another striker to add to the ranks as a result.
Nkunku and Gimenez have also been linked with January moves, and the addition of Fullkrug would push the pair close towards the AC Milan exit.
Fullkrug has struggled for regular game time at West Ham this season having started just five league games and has dropped behind Callum Wilson in the pecking order, though injuries have also impacted the former Borussia Dortmund and Werder Bremen hitman.
While the German striker is yet to score for the Hammers in the 2025/26 campaign, AC Milan feel Fullkrug is the ideal fit to boost their title chances.
West Ham prepared to sanction Fullkrug's exit
And West Ham are prepared to entertain offers for the Germany injury, with Fullkrug falling out of favour under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Fullkrug hasn’t featured for West Ham since the 2-0 defeat to Liverpool last month and didn’t make the matchday squad for Sunday’s 3-2 home loss to Aston Villa.
The 32-year-old will hope a move to Italy will boost his World Cup chances as the striker looks to reignite his international career.
The Hammers frontman hasn’t received an international call-up since September, though was forced to withdraw from the squad due to injury earlier in the year.
In the time since, Newcastle striker Nick Woltemade has established himself as first choice under Julian Nagelsmann.
