AC Milan are interested in signing Bayern Munich centre-back Kim Min-jae this month, according to Italian publication La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Serie A giants are locked in an intense Scudetto battle, with just three points separating the top five in Italy’s top tier.

The Rossoneri will hope to maintain their title pursuit when the host Genoa on Wednesday night.

Max Allegri’s side are unbeaten in 16 as they look to win their first league title in four years.

Kim is struggling for minutes with Bayern

And Allegri is looking to add to his team in the January window as AC Milan consider a move for Bayern star Kim.

The 29-year-old has struggled for regular game time under Vincent Kompany this season having started just six league games.

Kim is behind both Dayot Upamecano and Jonathan Tah in the Bayern pecking order and is eager for regular game time ahead of the World Cup in the summer.

Italian giants interested in bolstering backline

AC Milan are hardly faltering defensively in Serie A this season having conceded just 13 times, the third fewest league goals in the division.

However, Allegri is looking to bring in experience as the Milan powerhouse seek to pip rivals Inter and defending champions Napoli to top spot.

That said, the Italian giants would need Bayern to contribute towards Kim’s salary in order for a move to San Siro to happen.

Bayern running rampant in the Bundesliga

FC Hollywood currently lead the Bundesliga having gone unbeaten in the first half of the season, winning 13 of 15 league matches.

Kompany’s side sit nine points clear of second placed Borussia Dortmund as the season gets back underway this weekend.

And Bayern will resume their title pursuit with the welcome of lowly Wolfsburg on Sunday, the Wolves 14th in Germany’s top tier having won only four of their opening 15 league matches this season.
