A perfect rebound match: All the key stats ahead of Milan vs. Lecce
AC Milan are taking on Lecce in the fifth round of Serie A this evening, desperate to get back to winning ways ahead of the international break.
Two draws against Juventus and Lazio, as well as a mid-week defeat to Benfica, have put Milan in a somewhat troubling position. The pressure is mounting on Ruben Amorim and since a long international break is coming up, a win is needed today to build some confidence.
Thankfully for the Rossoneri, they have a perfect opponent in Lecce, having won all of their last five games against the Via del Mare side. The overall history of the fixture also speaks in their favour, with 31 wins, 15 draws and only two defeats.
That said, the most recent encounter between the two teams (also at San Siro) was a tight one. Niclas Füllkrug came off the bench and scored the winner late on, though it must be said that Milan wasted some good chances before that.
