An unprecedented figure!

Napoli handed Inter Milan a precious gift. Held to a 1-1 draw by visitors Lazio in their matchweek 11 fixture in Serie A, Gennaro Gattuso's side saw their winning run ended, offering their pursuers the chance to close the gap in the title race.

Davide Frattesi put Lazio ahead in the 28th minute. Alfonso Pedraza, a Lazio player, levelled for Napoli at the start of the second half, and the two sides shared the points.

On 29 points, Lazio clung to top spot and kept their unbeaten record intact, though they dropped two points after a run of six straight wins. Inter, sitting on 25 points with a game in hand, can now cut the gap to a single point if they beat Como today.

Lazio may have stumbled, but the matchweek delivered a historic achievement for the Italian capital's two clubs. Opta, the statistics network, revealed that for the first time in Serie A history, two teams from the same city, Roma and Lazio, have stayed unbeaten through the first 11 matches of a single season.

Both capital clubs are enjoying an exceptional start to the 2026-2027 season under Gattuso and Gasperini.
