Victory to the Residents – Celtic support magnificent at Motherwell
The Return of Celtic’s Unique Angle
Celtic’s Unique Angle, remember that? Well it has been a while but it’s back this morning with the two goals from Camilo Duran and Benjamin Nygren in yesterday’s 2-0 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park that returned Celtic back to the top of the Scottish Premiership table…
Where was this Celtic in the three matches before the international breaK? It’s completely baffling that we could have played so badly and become so disjointed in the defeat at Celtic Park against the Rangers.
A bigger audience for Sky Sports
That’s now hopefully behind us and the team certainly put on a show against a Motherwell side that would have fancied their chances ahead of kickoff. The Sky Sports audience would have been boosted by supporters of the latest Ibrox club and last season’s title runners up all tuning in hoping for the Celtic misery to continue.
They were quickly disappointed as Camilo Duran found the bottom corner inside ten minutes before Benjamin Nygren secured the points with a composed finishing early in the second half.
The only gripe that the Celtic support could have was the missed opportunities and clearly the 2-0 scoreline flattered the home side.
Celtic support absolutely magnificent at Fir Park
Talking of the Celtic support, weren’t they magnificent at Fir Park yesterday? From the outstanding Green Brigade tifo for Celtic legend Danny McGrain, to the protests against Dermot Desmond from both Ultras groups – the Green Brigade and Bhoys Celtic.
Desmond out of bounds, Celtic in the rough
The giant poster of Dermot Desmond was the logical response to last weekend’s events. The Irish billionaire has 35% of the shares but 100% control at the football club and there’s logically little point campaigning against Michael Nicholson, Chris McKay or Brian Wilson as they are mere puppets and have no decision making powers of their own.
Jota’s wonderfully warm welcome back
The reception given to returning hero Jota was outstanding, as was his wee dance in front of the support at the end. And the Celtic support made their own thoughts on the recent standoff at Garvaghy Road in the six counties clear both with banners and the adapted version of the Fields of Athenry.
