Wouter Vrancken's Hearts have impressed in the final third this season
  • Celtic lead the way at the top of the table going into Round 8, with two points between them and Rangers

  • Heart of Midlothian and Celtic are the joint-top goalscorers in the Premiership this season with 14

  • Just three points separate rock-bottom Kilmarnock from sixth-place St. Johnstone

The Scottish Premiership is back following the three-week international break, with six games taking place north of the border over the course of Saturday and Sunday.

Dundee United vs Hibernian - Saturday October 10 (3pm)

Key Stats

  • Both teams have scored in all of the last nine meetings between these sides

  • Hibernian are unbeaten in their last six Premiership encounters with Dundee United (3W, 3D)

Team news

This game is likely to come too soon for injured Dundee United duo Mehdi Merghem and Emmanuel Agyei, while Marko Ivezic, Kanayochukwu Megwa, Jordan Obita and Rocky Bushiri are all doubts for Hibs.

Need to know

Just one point separates these two sides in the Premiership standings after the first seven rounds and there might well be little separating the two teams come the final whistle on Saturday. Two of the last three meetings between these sides have ended in draws and another stalemate might well be on the cards here at Tannadice Park.

Score prediction: Dundee United 1-1 Hibernian @ 5/1 with LiveScore Bet

Falkirk vs Dundee - Saturday October 10 (3pm)

Key Stats

  • Falkirk have managed just one win from their opening seven games of the season

  • Dundee have not won a league game at Falkirk since 1996

Team news

Injuries have not been kind to Falkirk, with the likes of Joseph Gardner, Conor McLeod, Finn Yeats, Ethan Laidlaw and Aidan Nesbitt all sidelined, while Keelan Adams is a doubt.

Dundee come into this game with a much cleaner bill of health, with Ashley Hay the only player listed as injured with a knee issue.

Need to know

Falkirk have had a tough start to the season but they have won their last two home games against Dundee, who have lost four of their last five away matches in all competitions.

Score prediction: Falkirk 1-0 Dundee @ 13/2 with LiveScore Bet

Heart of Midlothian vs St. Mirren - Saturday October 10 (3pm)

Key Stats

  • St. Mirren are on a three-game losing streak going into this game

  • Hearts have won all of their last four home matches against St. Mirren in the Premiership

Team news

The injured Blair Spittal, Tom Renaud, Malachi Fagan-Walcott and Craig Halkett look set to miss out for Hearts, while St. Mirren are likely to be without the likes of Samuel Ramos, Liam Donnelly, Malik Dijksteel, Jonah Ayunga and Keanu Baccus.

Need to know

Hearts have an impressive home record against St. Mirren to look back on, winning all of their last four meetings at Tynecastle. Goals have been an issue for the Buddies in this fixture in the capital, with just one goal scored in those last four visits to Hearts.

Score prediction: Heart of Midlothian 2-0 St. Mirren @ 6/1 with LiveScore Bet

Rangers vs Kilmarnock - Saturday October 10 (3pm)

Key Stats

  • Rangers are on a six-game winning streak

  • Kilmarnock have won just two of their last 10 games in all competitions

Team news

Rangers are missing some big names going into this game at Ibrox, with skipper Lawrence Shankland still sidelined with a hamstring injury. He’s joined in the treatment room by Daisuke Yokota, Turr Rommens, Youssef Chermiti and Jose Cifuentes. As for Killie, only Robbie Deas is listed as injured heading into the weekend.

Need to know

Currently on a five-game winning streak in the Premiership, Rangers have hit their stride under new boss Derek McInnes. The Light Blues are on a five-match winning streak against Killie, scoring 21 goals in that spell.

Score prediction: Rangers 3-0 Kilmarnock @ 24/5 with LiveScore Bet

Motherwell vs Celtic - Sunday October 11 (12pm)

Key Stats

  • Motherwell are on a three-game losing streak and have scored just one goal in that time

  • Celtic have won 11 of their last 13 games at Motherwell in the Premiership

Team news

Motherwell have the likes of Johnny Koutroumbis, Oscar Priestman, Jordan McGhee, Callum Hendry and Paul McGinn all down on the injury list. As for Celtic, this game is set to come too soon for the likes of Benjamin Nygren, Jota, Callum Osmand and Alistair Johnston.

Need to know

Fir Park has certainly been a happy hunting ground for Celtic over the years, with the Hoops winning 11 of their last 12 visits in the Premiership. Neither side was in great form leading into the international break but Celtic can look back on their positive record in this fixture and give manager Martin O’Neill a much-needed victory.

Score prediction: Motherwell 0-2 Celtic @ 7/1 with LiveScore Bet

Aberdeen vs St. Johnstone - Sunday October 11 (2pm)

Key Stats

  • Aberdeen are unbeaten in their last four meetings with St. Johnstone (2W, 2D)

  • St. Johnstone have won just once in their last six visits to Pittodrie in the Premiership (1W, 3D, 2L)

Team news

Aberdeen trio Brad Lyons, Emmanuel Gyamfi and Kristers Tobers are all expected to miss out on Sunday’s game. As for the Saints, Jamie Gullan is doubtful for the weekend, while Zach Mitchell is a long-term absentee after a cruciate ligament injury.

Need to know

St. Johnstone have managed to win just one of their last 10 meetings with Aberdeen in the Premiership. Saints have struggled on their travels of late, failing to win any of their last four games away from Perth. The Dons have won four of their last six home matches in all competitions and will be tough to stop on Sunday.

Score prediction: Aberdeen 2-0 St. Johnstone @ 15/2 with LiveScore Bet
