Hearts hold a three-point advantage over Rangers at the top of the table
Celtic are a further three points back in third
The Bhoys will have Martin O’Neill back in the dugout this weekend
The Scottish Premiership is on course to deliver its most exciting title race in years with Hearts, Celtic and Rangers all in contention for the championship.
The Jambos head for Dundee on Sunday as they look to extend their lead at the top of the table in front of the TV cameras.
Rangers face what rates a tricky fixture against Aberdeen in the Granite City on Sunday, while Celtic will be expected to collect three points when they host Dundee United.
Celtic vs Dundee United (Saturday, 3pm)
Martin O’Neill is back in the Celtic dugout as the Bhoys hope to close the gap on Hearts at the top of the standings. There is plenty of talk of managers at Parkhead, but the real issue is that the Hoops’ squad is not at the required level.
Celtic have lost six of their last eight games, and while they may beat Dundee United on home turf, a low-scoring contest looks likely.
Score prediction: Celtic 1-0 Dundee United
Hibernian vs Motherwell (Saturday, 3pm)
In-form Hibernian have won their last three matches, but they are now running into an excellent Motherwell outfit and it is possible to make a case for all outcomes at Easter Road.
Motherwell have conceded only three goals in their last nine league matches, the Steelmen carry a major attacking threat and they could avoid defeat in Leith.
Score prediction: Hibernian 1-1 Motherwell
Livingston vs Kilmarnock (Saturday, 3pm)
Kilmarnock have turned to Neil McCann in a bid to ease their relegation woes, but Killie have failed to win any of their last 14 matches and this looks a golden opportunity for bottom club Livingston to make up ground.
David Martindale has added to his squad in the transfer window and that should give Livi the boost they need.
Score prediction: Livingston 2-0 Kilmarnock
St Mirren vs Falkirk (Saturday, 3pm)
St Mirren have been basking in the glory of their Scottish League Cup triumph, but the Buddies poor league form has them in danger of being sucked into the relegation battle.
Falkirk have been excellent this season and John McGlynn’s men are pushing for a top-six finish. The visitors could easily win in Paisley.
Score prediction: St Mirren 1-2 Falkirk
Dundee v Hearts (Sunday, 2pm)
Dundee have won three games on the bounce to move away from the bottom of the table. However, the Dee have been pretty fortunate to take nine points from their last three matches and the visits of Hearts will pose a stern test.
The title-chasing Jambos have won four of their last five games, Derek McInnes' men have not shown any signs of faltering and a Dens Park victory awaits.
Score prediction: Dundee 0-2 Hearts
Aberdeen v Rangers (Sunday, 4.30pm)
Rangers’ 3-1 victory over Celtic, and a run of four league successes on the bounce, has propelled the Gers back into the title race and they will look to continue their progress at Aberdeen.
The managerless Dons have proved thorny opponents in the past, but things are falling apart in the Granite City and Rangers should leave Pittodrie with three points.
Score prediction: Aberdeen 0-2 Rangers
