Hearts can take another giant step towards the Scottish Premiership title under Derek McInnes this weekend
  • Hearts are unbeaten in their last five Scottish Premiership games

  • Celtic have lost just one of their last 11 games in all competitions

  • Rangers have won their last two Scottish Premiership away games at Celtic

Hearts will be hoping to take another significant step towards the Scottish Premiership title on Saturday when they make the trip to Motherwell.

While the Jambos will be looking to do their own job at Fir Park, Sunday will see second-placed Celtic and Rangers in third go head-to-head in the Old Firm Derby at Parkhead.

Aberdeen vs Dundee United (Saturday, 3pm)

Winless in their last six games against Dundee United, Aberdeen finally look capable of getting one over the Tangerines at Pittodrie on Saturday.

The Terrors have won just once in their last eight away games in all competitions and the Dons, who have triumphed in their last two home matches without conceding, can come out on top this weekend.

Score prediction: Aberdeen 1-0 Dundee United

Dundee vs Livingston (Saturday, 3pm)

Two inconsistent sides go head-to-head at Dens Park on Saturday as Dundee host Livingston.

Livi have drawn six of their last nine games in the Premiership and, with their last two meetings with Dundee also ending all-square, another scoring stalemate might well be on the cards.

Score prediction: Dundee 2-2 Livingston

Falkirk vs Hibernian (Saturday, 3pm)

While arch-rivals Hearts are challenging for the title, Hibernian’s season looks set to go out with a whimper.

Currently on a three-game losing streak and having been beaten 4-1 on their last trip to Falkirk, Hibs look set to make the short trip back to the capital with nothing to show for their efforts.

Score prediction: Falkirk 2-1 Hibernian

St Mirren vs Kilmarnock (Saturday, 3pm)

Currently on a four-game losing streak in all competitions, confidence in the St Mirren camp will not be high ahead of the arrival of Kilmarnock to Paisley on Saturday.

Killie impressed with a 3-0 win over Dundee United in their last outing, and having won two of their last three games with Saints — the other ended in a draw — the East Ayrshire outfit are backed for the win at St Mirren Park.

Score prediction: St Mirren 0-2 Kilmarnock

Motherwell vs Hearts (Saturday, 8pm)

On the back of a huge 2-1 win over Rangers last time out, Hearts will be determined to keep their foot on the gas for their trip to Motherwell on Saturday night.

Motherwell have managed just one win in their last seven games and Hearts should be able to take another significant step towards the title.

Score prediction: Motherwell 1-2 Hearts

Celtic vs Rangers (Sunday, noon)

Rangers’ defeat to Hearts has left them all but out of the running for the title but the Light Blues can still scupper Celtic’s chances of retaining the Scottish crown.

The Gers have won their last two Premiership games at Celtic and a stalemate between these bitter rivals might be on the cards on Sunday.

Score prediction: Celtic 2-2 Rangers
