Russell Martin is under pressure with Rangers having yet to register a league win after four games
  • Celtic and Hearts hold a five-point cushion at the top of the table with the Bhoys leading the way with a superiors goal difference

  • Rangers, Motherwell and Kilmarnock have each drawn their opening four league games of the season

  • Aberdeen are the only team without a point but have played a game less than most of their rivals

Celtic and Rangers played out a drab 0-0 draw before the international break but the pressure remains on both teams with Hoops' fans unhappy with their lack of activity in the transfer window and Gers' supporters yet to be convinced by Russell Martin.

All in all this should be an intriguing slate of games.

Aberdeen vs Livingston (Saturday, 3pm)

Aberdeen have struggled to start the season, losing to Celtic, Hearts and Falkirk, although they were reduced to 10 men against Falkirk. They can get their first win of the season against a Livingston side who have lost three in a row in all competitions.

The Dons have won six of their last seven home games against these opponents and could edge a crucial win to kickstart their campaign.

Score prediction: Aberdeen 2-1 Livingston

Dundee vs Motherwell (Saturday, 3pm)

Motherwell have drawn all four of their league games to start the new campaign but should be able to pick up their first victory against Dundee. The hosts have taken just two points from their four matches, which includes a 2-0 defeat to arch rivals Dundee United last time out.

The Well have been playing some attractive football this term and could put Steven Pressley’s team to the sword.

Score prediction: Dundee 0-2 Motherwell

Falkirk vs St Mirren (Saturday, 3pm)

Falkirk have had a solid start to life back in the top flight, taking four points from their three games but they face a tough test against St Mirren in this one.

The Buddies have had a tough fixture list and have yet to win but have secured draws against Rangers, Hibs and Motherwell along with a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Celtic.

The visitors can win this one.

Score prediction: Falkirk 0-1 St Mirren

Rangers vs Hearts (Saturday, 3pm)

The problems keep piling up for Rangers who have yet to win a league game under Russell Martin. They face a Hearts team who have won three of their four matches and could heighten the issues for the Light Blues’ manager.

Score prediction: Rangers 1-2 Hearts

Hibernian vs Dundee United (Saturday, 5.45pm)

Hibs have a real chance of making a big impact in the Scottish Premiership this season and they should be too strong for Dundee United in this one.

The Tangerines have conceded 11 goals in their last six games in all competitions and are still recovering from an injury crisis.

Score prediction: Hibernian 2-0 Dundee United

Kilmarnock vs Celtic (Sunday, 3pm)

Celtic have yet to concede in the league but fans are unhappy with the lack of investment in the squad. However they have had plenty of success against Kilmarnock in recent years, winning the last five meetings between these two and can extend that record further.

Score prediction: Kilmarnock 1-3 Celtic
