Motherwell boss Alfred Johansson has been speaking after seeing his side beaten by Celtic on Sunday. The Hoops ended their run of three straight defeats with a 2-0 win at Fir Park after goals from Camilo Duran and Benjamin Nygren.

The win will be seen as vital for the Bhoys ahead of a tough run of games that will see them take on Benfica, Hearts and Celta Vigo.

Motherwell, meanwhile, have extended their losing run to four, and their manager, Johansson, was not too impressed at full-time.

He told Sky Sports: "I think we are the second best team today. Celtic are better than us and there are moments in this game where we manage and we do our thing, but there are also two easy goals to concede, which we need to improve.

"After the first goal, we have a rough patch and then we build up some momentum, and when that happens, you have to take some profit from those moments against a good team and we didn't.

"The second half, we started okay and they played us down but we had some moment as well. But the way we conceded the second goal, you tru to make changes and keep it positive but the game was open from there. They looked dangerous and we didn't score, so you are always going to be one step behind."

Mothwerwell were poor, in truth, rarely threatening Celtic, and Johansson's team selection will be questioned, given his most dangerous players actually came off the bench.

Had goalkeeper Alex Paulsen not been in excellent form, Motherwell would have lost this game by five or six, and that really would have set the alarm bells ringing.

Celtic, meanwhile, will be pleased with their efforts, which Martin O'Neill described as 'terrific'. This was a test the Hoops had to pass after going into the break on the back of a rotten run of form that had fans feeling particularly concerned.
