Martin O’Neill urged to stick with struggling £11m Celtic striker Kasper Høgh
The £11million Danish forward was restored to Celtic’s starting XI for Sunday’s Scottish Premiership clash with Hibernian at Easter Road.
His inclusion came despite the Hoops scoring seven goals against Hearts last weekend without Høgh leading the attack.
The striker has struggled to rediscover his early-season form since returning from injury, but Bonner believes regular opportunities are essential to rebuilding his confidence.
Speaking on BBC Sport’s live coverage, the former Celtic goalkeeper said: “O’Neill has to get Hogh in the team. Celtic have paid big money for him, he’s probably on big wages.
“He’s lacking in confidence and they’ve got to find a way to build that up, and get him back to what he showed in those first couple of games.
“He’s not been right since his injury. They’ve just got to get the ball into the box for him, that’s key for how he plays.”
