Haissem Hassan is another of Celtic's new signings who needs to start seizing his opportunities. The winger has looked dangerous here and there, but he is struggling to consistently prove himself a threat.

The winger arrived on a deal worth £6million upfront plus add-ons in the summer, and he arrived with big expectations after dazzling for Egypt at the World Cup as they reached the Round of 16.

But results have been mixed so far. Hassan was afforded some grace due to the fact he did not have much of a pre-season on account of arriving late from the World Cup. Hassan started late at Oviedo, and by the time he arrived at Celtic, he was well behind his new teammates, whose season started just shy of three weeks before Oviedo's campaign began.

But now around a month-and-a-half into the season, those excuses have worn out, and we need to start seeing Hassan deliver consistently. The Egyptian has been in and out on the right, with Camilo Durán rotating between the right wing and the striker position, but Hassan should be pushing to come undroppable out there.

He has the talent, and we saw it during the Benfica game, when he came on and looked really dangerous against a very good Benfica back-line. A start against Hearts this weekend is surely now likely, especially with Kasper Hogh having had another stinker, which led him to being replaced at half-time by O'Neill in Portugal.

The likely lineup sees Durán return to the central role and Hassan start on the right, but whatever the case, Hassan needs to start showing how dangerous he can be at this level week in, week out. European games are a tougher challenge, but at Premiership level, Hassan should be dominating full-backs.

We need to start seeing that, and if Hassan isn't feeling fully fit by now, then there are questions to be asked. That may not be the case, but that's why those excuses are no longer valid.

There is good support on that right-hand side, be it Colby Donovan or Alistair Johnston, which removes another possible excuse. It's time for Hassan to start dominating and to show his value as a pricey summer arrival.
