Celtic's season-defining festive fixtures take shape as Sky announce latest TV picks
Celtic fans can now start to make plans for December, fitting in football around festivities. That is because, on Monday afternoon, the SPFL announced six more TV picks for matches to be played throughout December. This means that the Hoops' fixtures until the new year are, almost, set in stone.
Celtic's festive fixture list
Sunday 29 November: Heart of Midlothian - Tynecastle. Kick off 3pm; Sky Sports.
Wednesday 2 December: Dundee - Dens Park. Kick off 7:45pm; Premier Sports.
Saturday 5 December: St Johnstone - Parkhead. Kick off 3pm.
Thursday 10 December: Omonia - GSP Stadium. Kick off 5:45pm; TNT Sports.
Sunday 13 December: Hibernian - Parkhead. Kick off 3pm.
Sunday 20 December: Aberdeen - Pittodrie. Kick off noon; Sky Sports.
Saturday 26 December: Motherwell - Parkhead. Kick off 3pm.
Wednesday 30 Decemeber: Dundee United - Tannadice. Kick off 7:45pm; Premier Sports.
Sunday 3 January: Rangers - Ibrox. Kick off noon; Sky Sports.
Note: All kick off times and TV channels are in the UK.
First thing to note is that the clash with Hibernian on Sunday 13 December is very much still subject to change. If Marink Reedijk's team beat Edinburgh rivals Heart of Midlothian at Hampden on 1 November, they will be through to the League Cup Final and the match will be postponed.
On the flip side, if Hearts defeat Hibs, the fixture could still be moved. Last year, a clash between Rangers and Hibs at Ibrox, scheduled for the same day as Celtic's League Cup Final against St Mirren, was switched to Monday night, following a request by Police Scotland. Unable to take place on Saturday, due to the Hoops' Europa League visit to Nicosia, this could happen later down the line.
Either way, this will be a season-defining December period for Martin O'Neill's team. To conclude November, the Celts will travel to Tynecastle, having lost and drew when they took on Hearts in Gorgie during last season's nail-bitting title tussle between the two.
Trips north to Pittodrie and Tannadice conclude a turbulent and eventful 2026, before the small matter of an Old Firm derby against Rangers on 3 January. Already this season, Celtic have twice been beaten by their fiercest rivals, without scoring, including been ignominiously demolished 3-0 in Govan in the League Cup.
The top three are currently separated by just five points, with the Jambos looking like being involved in another title race, after Wouter Vrancken's team smashed St Mirren 5-0 on Saturday. Who knows what the table will look like in two month's time but, one thing is for certain, sofa Celtic supporters will be able to watch a lot of their team this Christmas.
