Celtic return to Scottish Premiership action tomorrow afternoon with a home match against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park…

Spirits in the Hoops camp will be high after the fine 3-2 win on Thursday evening over Besiktas in the Europa League as the Champions look to get the show back on the road after carelessly dropping five points in the past two matches against Dundee United (2-2) at Celtic Parkhead and last Sunday’s dreadfully disappointing 2-0 defeat away to Falkirk.

Neil McCann’s Kilmarnock side have been there or thereabout the drop-zone all season and will look to frustrate Celtic for as long as they possibly can. If Celtic play like they did in the second half on Thursday night then we can go into the international break with a smile on our collective faces.

Celtic Team News

Alistair Johnston remains sidelined with his hamstring problem and there is also a doubt about Cameron Carter-Vickers who was complaining of a tight hamstring on Thursday evening. Auston Trusty remains unavailable due to the saddest of personal reasons.

Jota and Yang were unavailable on Thursday but both are good to go against Kilmarnock, giving Martin O’Neill the chance to add a great threat down the left-wing.

Predicted Celtic Team

Sam Johnstone will keep the gloves, still looking for his first clean sheet at Celtic. Colby Donovan was benched against Besiktas but came on with Camilo Duran and Callum Osmand after an hour and helped turn around the match to give Celtic our first three points in UEFA’s secondary competition. Donovan played his part in the Celtic winner with a powerful and determined run across the pitch, leading to the Celtic winner.

Kieran Tierney will play at left-back and the two centre-backs will be Dane Murray and Liam Scales, with CCV unlikely to be risked.

In the middle of the park, Celtic were much better the other night and Martin O’Neill will be looking for more of the same from Callum McGregor, Mika Baur and Benjamin Nygren.

Kasper Hogh got a hat-trick against Kilmarnock back in August at Rugby Park and few would have predicted he’d be going into tomorrow’s rematch with the Ayrshire side still looking for his fourth Celtic goal three months later. The Danish striker will get his chance from the start and with Jota on the left and Camilo Duran on the right of the Celtic attack, he should get some opportunities.

Subs for Celtic will include Sinisalo, Lotomba, Emenalo, Carter-Vickers, McCowan, Sorensen, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Yang, Osmand, Hassan, Mheuka and Forrest.

Match Officials

John Beaton takes charge of his second match at Celtic Park this season, having also had the whistle in that awful Glasgow Derby in September. Beaton will be assisted David Roome and Gordon McCabe while Colin Steven is on fourth official. Meanwhile over at Clydesdale House the VAR will be Grant Irvine and he will be assisted by Dan McFarlane.

Celtic v Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday 8 November will kick-off at the unusual time of 4pm. We covered the reasons for that timing on Celtic Shorts yesterday.

Predicted Score

Celtic will want get back to winning way in the league and will be boosted by the win over Besiktas. Hopefully Kasper Hogh can get in amongst the goals and you wouldn’t bet against Camilo Duran continuing to add to his considerable total. Predicted score – Celtic 3 Kilmarnock 0.
