Celtic's home game against Kilmarnock will kick off at 4pm on Sunday after talks with Police Scotland over Remembrance commemorations and city centre roadworks. With no live TV coverage, supporters away from Celtic Park will need a CelticPlayer Match Pass as the league leaders try to steady their domestic form.

Kilmarnock are the visitors to Celtic Park for Celtic’s final Premiership match before the international break.

The later start was agreed after talks between the clubs and the authorities, including Police Scotland. Remembrance Sunday commitments and major roadworks in Glasgow were behind the decision. Police resources are expected to be stretched earlier in the day while the city holds its annual commemorations. The slot is not new for this fixture. When the sides met at the same stage of last season, that game was also set for a Sunday afternoon start at the same hour.

Streets around George Square stay closed until kick-off

Supporters travelling through the city centre face a series of closures. Vehicles are banned from every side of George Square from 3pm on 7 November until kick-off time on Sunday, according to the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce. The same ban covers George Street between the square and High Street.

Further closures run from 4am until kick-off time on Sunday. They include North Hanover Street and North and South Frederick Street. West George Street is also shut between West Nile Street and George Square.

Fans who cannot get to the ground can still follow the match live. Celtic confirmed on its official website that the game will be available with a CelticPlayer Match Pass. Eligible existing members in the UK and Ireland will pay £9.99 for the one-off pass, GlasgowWorld reported. Overseas subscribers can also watch live.

Falkirk defeat sharpens the focus before Kilmarnock visit

Celtic’s recent domestic results have been poor. On 28 October they drew 2-2 at home to Dundee United. Zac Sapsford and Neil Farrugia scored for the visitors, with Camilo Duran netting for Celtic. Liam Scales headed the equaliser on 65 minutes.

Four days later Falkirk won 2-0. Ethan Ross and Scott Tanser scored in the first half. It was Falkirk’s first win over Celtic in 19 years.

Celtic remained top after that defeat on 28 points, the SPFL table showed. That leaves them four clear of Rangers, who have played one game fewer. The visitors’ lowly league position gives the hosts a chance to restore some momentum.

Europe has brought some encouragement. Martin O’Neill’s substitutes changed the game against Beşiktaş. Callum Osmand equalised with his first touch. Celtic’s first Europa League victory finished 3-2, with Duran on the scoresheet twice.

CelticPlayer’s live coverage of Sunday’s match begins at 3.30pm, half an hour before kick-off.
