Celtic confirm date for annual celebratory Mass at St Mary’s

Celtic FC this afternoon confirmed that the club’s annual celebratory Mass at St Mary’s in the Calton will take place on Wednesday, 4th November at 7pm, commemorating the 139th anniversary of the club’s formation…

Led by an Irish Marist Brother Walfrid, Celtic Football Club was founded for the maintenance of dinner tables for the impoverished children in the East End of Glasgow.

Celtic has been holding a a celebration Mass to mark the club’s foundation every year since the club’s 125th anniversary.

And the special celebration takes place in the same week that Celtic FC Foundation’s annual Christmas Appeal is launched, which aims to help those less fortunate living in Glasgow and further afield.

This year, the Mass will be conducted by St Mary’s parish priest, Father John Mulholland, and as always, it will be a celebration of Celtic’s long and illustrious history.

Once again, it’s sure to be an evening filled with emotion and a huge sense of pride and the club is encouraging supporters of all faiths and none to come along and share it together.
