Celtic boss Martin O’Neill hails Hibs comeback as best win of the season
The Hoops recovered from an early setback to secure all three points and maintain their four-point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Owen Elding handed Hibs an early lead before a Jason Kerr own goal brought Celtic level in the fifth minute.
Camilo Durán then completed the turnaround shortly before half-time, continuing his impressive goalscoring form following last weekend’s outstanding display against Hearts.
Despite admitting his side were far from their best, O’Neill was delighted with the character shown to secure an important away victory.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Celtic boss said: “I thought, given the circumstances, given the conditions, given the fact that we didn’t play all that well, I thought it was our best win of the season. I honestly did. I thought it was our best win of the season.
“Difficult to come here under normal circumstances, and to come from a goal behind after a couple of minutes as well too, I’m really delighted.
“Delighted perseverance of the side as much as anything else, didn’t play really well at all in the game. But doesn’t matter. We’ve won the game, and that and shows a bit of character.”
