Hearts are unbeaten in their last 20 league home games
Celtic have won seven of their last eight Scottish Premiership fixtures
St Mirren have lost nine of their last 12 league games
The Scottish Premiership title race has boiled down to two teams with leaders Hearts and second-placed Celtic battling it out to finish top of the pile.
The teams go head-to-head at Celtic Park on Saturday but neither can afford to lose focus on their Wednesday assignments.
Hearts wrap up their home schedule with a match against sixth-placed Falkirk, while Celtic face a seemingly trickier fixture against fourth-placed Motherwell at Fir Park.
Aberdeen vs St Mirren (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Highly-rated head coach Stephen Robinson switched from St Mirren to Aberdeen two months ago and he could be about to inflict more pain on his old side, who are four points inside the relegation play-off slot with only six to play for.
Robinson’s Aberdeen have taken 10 points from their last four matches and they should be too strong for the Buddies, who have suffered four successive league defeats.
Score prediction: Aberdeen 2-1 St Mirren
Dundee United vs Livingston (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Livingston were relegated three games before the end of the season and their misery could continue with a loss at Dundee United.
The basement boys have registered just two league wins and could be brushed aside by seventh-placed United, who are targeting a fifth successive home victory.
Score prediction: Dundee United 2-0 Livingston
Kilmarnock vs Dundee (Tuesday, 7.45pm)
Third-bottom Kilmarnock need three more points to make sure of survival and they can get them by defeating ninth-placed Dundee at Rugby Park.
Neil McCann’s side should be feeling good after back-to-back 3-0 wins at home to Dundee United and away to St Mirren, and they can seize a good opportunity against the Dark Blues, who have gone three away matches without success.
Score prediction: Kilmarnock 2-0 Dundee
Hearts vs Falkirk (Wednesday, 8pm)
Long-term leaders Hearts have had a few wobbles in recent weeks but they can hold onto first place for at least a few more days by defeating Falkirk at Tynecastle.
Derek McInnes’ side have accumulated 46 points on home soil and should have too much quality and intensity for the Bairns, who have lost three of their last four league fixtures.
Score prediction: Hearts 2-0 Falkirk
Motherwell vs Celtic (Wednesday, 8pm)
Celtic are two victories away from winning the league again and they can get the first of them by grinding out three points against Motherwell at Fir Park.
The Bhoys passed a huge test with Sunday’s 3-1 triumph at home to rivals Rangers, but they cannot take anything for granted against fourth-placed Well, who have suffered just two home losses over the course of the SPL season.
Score prediction: Motherwell 1-2 Celtic
Rangers vs Hibernian (Wednesday, 8pm)
Rangers have lost three successive matches at a crucial stage of the season and are guaranteed to finish third.
The Gers’ sticky spell could continue with a high-scoring draw against fifth-placed Hibernian, who will be feeling good after their 2-1 weekend victory at Falkirk.
Score prediction: Rangers 2-2 Hibernian.
