Team news
Rangers captain Lawrence Shankland remains injured for the match at Hampden after a hamstring injury picked up against Motherwell at Ibrox.
“I’m getting there slowly; I got off the crutches this week. It’s been four weeks from my surgery, so things look good,” he said recently.
“I was back down to see the specialist to get feedback, and things are going in the right direction, so everything’s good. I’m healing well after the surgery. It was just a kind of check-up to make sure everything was where it was meant to be.
“You need to speak to the medical team for a better description, but as far as I’m aware, everything’s going in the right direction.”
Youssef Chermiti, Daisuke Yokota and Cammy Devlin are also all out. Teenage left-back Ashton Scally made his return from injury for the B team recently but is unlikely to feature.
Derek McInnes noted in his pre-match presser that one unnamed player is struggling with a knee injury ahead of the clash.
“He's got a wee bit of a grumbling knee this morning, but we're going to get him scanned this afternoon just to see how it is. His knee's dry, but he's just got a wee bit of discomfort,” the manager said.
“We don't think it's anything too serious, but hopefully the scan gives us a wee bit of reassurance on that. But other than him, we're good to go.”
Aberdeen will be without Lewis Mayo, Mats Knoester, Kristers Tobers and Chris Cadden for Saturday's Premier Sports Cup semi-final against Rangers due to injury. Stephen Robinson confirmed Tobers has suffered a setback with knee swelling, while Cadden is out with a mild hamstring injury.
“We’ve got a problem at the back, of course, that’s been well documented, with Lewis Mayo, Mats Knoester and Dan Happe,” Robinson said.
“Kristers Tobers has had a little bit of a setback. There’s a little bit of swelling on his knee, so he won’t be available for selection tomorrow.”
On Cadden, he added: “It’s a mild hamstring injury. We’re hoping he could be fit for the Hibs game, but at this early stage, it’s still very hard to say.”
Dan Happe is also suspended for the match.
Match officials
Ryan Lee will be the referee in charge of tomorrow night's Premiership clash between Rangers and Dundee.
The Scottish official has taken charge of 12 matches domestically and in Europe this season. He has handed out 31 yellow cards, one red card and awarded four penalty kicks.
This is his first Gers fixture of the season, he took charge of the Dons home loss to St Johnstone earlier this month. He was, however, the fourth official for the recent Scottish Premiership match with Celtic at Parkhead.
He will be assisted by Jonathan Bell and Scott Anderson on the sidelines while Ross Hardie Soutar is fourth official.
On VAR duty will be John Beaton, with Chris Graham serving as his assistant.
