PSL Match Previews and Predictions
Kaizer Chiefs vs Stellenbosch (18:30)
Kaizer Chiefs are still unbeaten in the Premiership under summer hire Fernando de Cruz, though they entered the international break just outside the top three following a frustrating series of three draws in four assignments.
Chiefs registered just a single shot on target in a 0-0 stalemate with Golden Arrows when they were last in action and created just one big chance in an uninspiring 1-1 tie with Polokwane before that, so they’ll need to sharpen their work in the final third to win on Tuesday.
Stellenbosch secured a second win of the campaign when they dug out a 1-0 victory at 10-man Kruger just before the break, though that was the fourth game in a row where the Stellies notched one or fewer goals.
Both Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch have been conceding just 1.0 goal per 90 minutes in the Premiership this term, so don’t be surprised if defenders dominate this one.
Prediction: Under 2.5 Goals

Orlando Pirates vs TS Galaxy (18:30)
Champions Orlando Pirates started their title defence in formidable fashion in the lead-up to the international break, dropping just two of the first 21 point on offer to them, while conceding just a single goal in seven Premiership fixtures combined.
Their MTN 8 Wafa Wafa Cup Final defeat to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns at the weekend, which ended the Pirates’ four-year grip on the trophy, was a gut wrencher, though that setback should mean that Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side is extra-motivated to perform on their return to league action on Tuesday.
A home date with TS Galaxy looks like the ideal opportunity for Orlando to rebound. The Pirates hammered the Rockets 6-0 when the teams last met in March and struggling TSG have already failed to win six times in seven attempts since the start of the new PSL campaign.
Unsurprisingly, the Buccaneers are heavy favourites here, though backing them to win to nil nudges prices in a more favourable direction. TS Galaxy failed to score in four of their last five league matches, and in three of their last four meetings with the Pirates. They could toil in the final third again on Tuesday.
Prediction: Orlando Pirates to Win to Nil

Richards Bay vs Mamelodi Sundowns (18:30)
Mamelodi Sundowns have zipped out of the blocks this season, winning six and drawing two of their first eight matches to claim a position as the early front-runners at the summit of the Premiership before securing silverware in the MTN 8 Wafa Wafa Cup with a win in the final over rivals Orlando Pirates (2-0).
The short turnaround between games means that head coach Miguel Cardoso has possible post-final celebration hangovers to manage ahead of Tuesday’s contest, however, Sundowns’ superior class should still eventually tell, even if they are fatigued.
Richards Bay, who are winless in the Premiership so far, have also lost three of their first four home matches of the season, while they also have the division’s worst defensive record (16 goals conceded).
They did upset the odds to hold Sundowns (0-0) when the teams last met at the King Zwelithini Stadium in April, however, the landscape has shifted since then. Back a buoyant Mamelodi Sundowns to win here.
