Wow! Julian Ward ready to sign generational winger for Liverpool
Liverpool might be making even more moves on the attacking front very soon.
If anything the Reds frontline looks the most complete part of Andoni Iraola's jigsaw. However, last summer Liverpool spent the last few days of the window pursuing another attacker.
Ismailar Sarr and Yankuba Minteh were potential targets. However, ultimately Liverpool were priced out of those moves.
But in hindsight looking at Liverpool's attacking options right now, they look pretty solid.
Bradley Barcola looks to be a strong addition. Alexander Isak is firing on all cylinders. Florian Wirtz is now getting goal contributions. Victor Munoz might have been a steal. Rio Ngumoha could be one of the best wingers on the planet soon. And then there's Lewis Koumas, who has become a fan favourite for his voracious work ethic.
Liverpool's exciting future generation
And then there's Hugo Ekitike of course. He's slowly getting ready to make a comeback and there are high hopes he can return to the same form that he played in before.
Behind them, Will Wright is banging in goals for the U21s and U19s and will likely be getting a chance in the first-team soon. Liverpool's new recruit Djylian N'Guessan could also be joining the Reds in the January window, and he is also very highly rated.
Joshua Abe on the wings is regarded as one of the best young prospects at the club. AJ Yeguo is making a strong case for that as well.
And Erik Farkas and Samuel Martinez are two players who Liverpool believe can rival Wirtz's no.10 role in the first-team very soon.
Julian Ward ready to sign Mathis Albert for Liverpool
The club's new sporting director has made it clear he wants to sign young players. Ward's entire philosophy hinges on building for the future.
And while there are a lot of exciting attackers, it has never stopped him before from adding more.
Bild as per Get Football News Germany are reporting that Liverpool are among the club's interested in 17-year-old Mathis Albert from Borussia Dortmund.
This is a generational winger, who is already on the fringes of the first-team of the Bundesliga giants and who has dazzled with his one vs one ability in a myriad of youth tournaments.
Albert could be the final missing piece of the jigsaw in attack for Iraola. Liverpool are clearly ready to sign another attacker and this signing has Ward's fingerprints written all over it.
