Video: third win: Barcelona halt Aston Villa's run of victories "with Lamine's magic and Raphinha's skill"
claimed the ninth point
Barcelona are back to winning ways in the Champions League. A comfortable 3-0 win over visitors Aston Villa on Tuesday did the job.
Camp Nou hosted the clash, played in the fourth round of the Champions League league phase.
Barca had gone down 4-2 to Paris Saint-Germain last time out, but bounced back here for a third win that lifts them to nine points and second place.
Villa, meanwhile, tasted defeat for the first time at this stage after three straight wins. They stay on nine points too, dropping to third.
Lamine Yamal (7') and Raphinha (53', 65') got the goals for the hosts.
Hansi Flick's side were excellent, particularly going forward, pinning Villa back with a relentless high press.
Several clear chances to pad the scoreline went begging, with Lamine Yamal the standout performer throughout.
At the other end, the Catalan press tormented Villa, and glaring errors cost them dearly.
The English side still carried a real threat to Joan Garcia's goal, especially in a first half that brought them four dangerous openings.
