Transfer Rumours: Man Utd go all in on Jacobo Ramon as €250m boost changes everything
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 5 November, including the latest updates on Jacobo Ramon, Benjamin Sesko and JJ Gabriel.
Man Utd "ramp up" Ramon pursuit
Man Utd are intensifying their pursuit of Como centre-back Jacobo Ramon, TEAMtalk claims.
The Red Devils are planning to overhaul their backline in 2027 and will have to make at least one centre-back signing as Lisandro Martinez is expected to depart the club when his contract expires. Man Utd are not planning to exercise their one-year extension option.
Ramon is one of the options under consideration, and the club are keeping an increasingly close watch on his performances. However, signing him is complicated as there is plenty of competition for his signature, while Real Madrid ultimately control his future due to a buy-back clause.
Sesko interest after €250m boost
Man Utd striker Benjamin Sesko is a target for Juventus, Calciomercato writes.
The Bianconeri will receive a €250 million capital injection, with around €100m expected to be made available for January transfers to rectify a poor start to the season. Signing a new striker is one of the priorities, despite the summer arrivals of Randal Kolo Muani and Nick Woltemade.
Sesko is among the names on Juventus' shortlist, and the club will monitor how he recovers from his injury, which is expected to keep him sidelined until the new year, before deciding whether he is a viable target.
Gabriel set for Real Madrid
Wantaway Man Utd wonderkid JJ Gabriel is expected to join Real Madrid, The Athletic has confirmed.
The 16-year-old informed Man Utd of his intention to leave in September, and he is set to depart in January, with a deal that would take him to Real Madrid described as "very advanced." It has not yet been entirely finalised, however.
Los Blancos beat off competition from Bayern Munich, PSG and, most notably, Barcelona, who were also thought to be extremely interested in Gabriel despite public comments to the contrary from sporting director Deco.
Ait-Nouri desperate to leave
Man City left-back Rayan Ait-Nouri is looking to leave the club in January, L'Equipe reports.
The French-born Algeria international has struggled for minutes under Enzo Maresca this season, and people close to the player have confirmed that a winter transfer is being actively worked on because his "talent is wasted" at Man City.
Man Utd and Juventus explored a summer transfer and are believed to still be interested. Earlier this week, it was suggested that agreeing personal terms would not be a problem for the Red Devils but that doing business with rivals City could prove challenging.
Barca eye Hincapie
Barcelona are interested in Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie, as per Sport.
The Ecuador international has struggled for Premier League minutes after permanently joining the Gunners from Bayer Leverkusen this summer. This has prompted tentative interest from Barcelona, who are looking for someone with his profile.
The Catalans are keen to add a left-sided defender with international quality in January, but there is an acceptance that extracting Hincapie from Arsenal will be incredibly difficult in the middle of the season.
